    This position is located in Ft. Smith, Arkansas

     

    The Medical Assistant (MA) works under the direct supervision of the clinic physician by assisting in the examination and treatment of patients.

    Responsibilities

    Responsibilities include:

    • Conducting patient interviews, collecting patient data, performing vital signs (i.e., pulse rate, temperature, blood pressure, weight, and height) and recording information on patients' Electronic Medical Record (EMR).
    • Prepareing treatment rooms for examination of patients.
    • Drawing and collecting blood samples from patients and preparing specimens for laboratory analysis.
    • Performing EKG's, dressing changes, set up for and assist provider with procedures and examinations (with the exception of medication handling).
    • Coordinating appointments, referrals, consults, tests and/or procedures, utilizing the various registration and scheduling systems.
    • Responding appropriately to the requirements of third-party payers requesting medical records and surgery scheduling.

    Qualifications

    Required: High School Diploma/GED plus successful completion of Medical Assistant Training from an Accredited Program. Must have 1 year of Medical Assistant experience.  

     

    Preferred: Patient Care experience, current BLS.
