The Licensed Practical Nurse, (LPN), is a specifically trained and licensed member of the clinic team. The LPN supports the on-going delivery of care, as identified by the multi-disciplinary scope of practice. The LPN works with the individual patient, their families, and providers of care to implement individual health plans, under the direction of the RN.
Part-time, temporary position on an as-needed basis. Participates in the implementation of the patient's plan of care (POC), collects information about the patient's health status, monitors/reports changes in condition, and reinforces patient teaching either by phone or within the UAMS clinic. Delivers and documents care under the direction of an RN, according to the standards as defined by UAMS, American Nurses Association (ANA), Arkansas State Board of Nursing (ASBN), and set fourth by applicable nursing specialty organizations.
Required: Graduate of an accredited Nursing Program is required. Valid LPN License, minimum of 1 year of LPN experience, current CPR; excellent communication skills, strong work ethics and accountability, basic computer skills.
Preferred: 2 years or more nursing experience.
