The Registered Nurse (RN) provides direct patient care to assigned patients. As a professional nurse, the nursing process is utilized in the provision of care. The RN practices within the limits of the Nurse Practice Act of the State of Arkansas and adheres to institutional policies, procedures and standards.
Shift: 7P-7A, three shifts during the week, plus rotate weekends.
Job Duties: Registered Nurse I to provide nursing care to Emergency Department Observation patients in the Clinical Decision Units. Nurses will coordinate the ongoing assessment, evaluation, and treatment of medically stable Emergency Department patients with a limited set of diagnoses who require 8 - 24 hours of monitoring and intervention prior to discharge or admission. Nurses will demonstrate the ability to support rapid throughput and to provide thorough patient education. Nursing duties may also include provision of care to traditional lower-acuity Emergency Department overflow patients.
Required Experience: RN License, minimum of 1 year of registered nursing experience, basic computer skills, BLS and ACLS (within 30 days of hire).
Preferred Experience: Previous ED, ICU or Telemetry/Progressive Care Units, PACU and/or Med/Surg-Observation nursing experience Certification in related field, including but not limited to CEN, CCRN, CMSRN.
