The Advanced Practice Nurse will assist surgeon with clinic, organizing visits and performing clinic procedures, assist in the operating room, answer pages and round on post-operative patients on a daily and PRN basis. The APRN will be responsible for managing care of outpatients post-operatively, answering telephone inquiries and filling prescriptions. Nurse must have a high level of expertise to perform assessments/diagnosis/treatment of actual/potential problems of patients.

70% Job Duties (Performs Role of):
*Augmentation (25%) - The APN will extend the patient care and administrative services of the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences physicians.
*Consummate Professional (25%) - The APN will be expected to provide comprehensive health assessments, determine diagnoses, implement treatment plans, prescribe medical treatments and manage health issues for patients in collaboration with the designated physician(s).
*Collaborator (10%) - The APN will work autonomously, as well as, in collaboration with a variety of individuals to diagnose and manage patients' health care problems; and will serve as a health care resource, interdisciplinary consultant, and patient advocate.
*Coordination (10%) - The APRN will also coordinate the multidisciplinary care of patients, facilitating all necessary consults, assuring that care is timely and appropriate. Other duties may be assigned to this position.

APRN/CPN License, RN License, Master’s Degree in nursing, 2 years nursing experience.
Must be able to operate all typical nursing equipment essential to performing the job (i.e., scales, procedure equipment, needles, blood pressure equipment, and EKG machines).
Must have normal communication sensory requirement.
