    This position is located in Fort Smith, Arkansas.


    KIDS FIRST serves children with special healthcare needs ranging in age from six weeks to five years. In our pediatric day healthcare clinics, children diagnosed as having a medical condition known to place them at risk for developmental delays and disabilities receive intensive intervention.


    Schedule: Full-Time, Days


    The Clinical Coordinator provides clinical nursing care for children enrolled at UAMS Kids First and acts as a clinical resource for staff and as a community liaison for children enrolled in the program.

    • Implements the nursing process to manage patient care problems of a complex and changing nature as demonstrated by documentation and observation.
    • Assumes accountability and responsibility for all aspects of care for assigned group of patients, with respect for developmental level and age-specific issues. Performs nursing intake evaluations and nursing assessments to monitor progress within established time frame.
    • Administers medications and treatments and performs procedures according to UAMS and KIDS FIRST policies. Evaluates children to identify signs of illness or injury and intervenes appropriately. Maintains current and accurate records and ensures confidentiality.
    • Integrates and shares knowledge related to clinical practice. Teaching/learning needs of patients and families are identified, addressed, and documented. Provides learning activities, including CPR classes, and acts as a resource for staff in the areas of health, safety, and infection control. Assumes responsibility for acquiring knowledge and experience to meet professional goals.


    Required: Graduate of an accredited Nursing Program with Associates Degree, Nursing Diploma, Bachelors in Nursing, or Master's in Nursing.  Valid RN License, 2 years of Registered Nursing experience. Must have current CPR Instructor Status or eligible to obtain within 6 months of hire.  Excellent communication skills, basic computer skills, strong work ethics and accountability.


    Preferred: 2 years or more nursing experience In Pediatrics.
