The Registered Nurse (RN) provides direct patient care to assigned patients. As a professional nurse, the nursing process is utilized in the provision of care. The RN practices within the limits of the Nurse Practice Act of the State of Arkansas and adheres to institutional policies, procedures and standards.
Work Hours: 7A-7P, three shifts during the week, plus rotate weekends.
Job Duties: F8 Cardiac Progressive Care is a 30 bed adult (age 18 and older) inpatient unit specializing in the care and treatment of patients belonging to the Cardiology, Cardiothoracic Surgery, and Vascular Surgery teams, as well as Medicine and Hospitalists teams. Patients are received from the Emergency Department, Outpatient clinics, transfers from outside facilities, and transfers from other units/departments at UAMS.

Required Experience: RN License, minimum of 1 year of registered nursing experience; basic computer skills; successfully manage complex medical patients in a teaching hospital.
Preferred Experience: National Certification; BSN or MSN; 2 or more years of nursing experience with a minimum of 1 year in an acute care setting such as a teaching hospital; cardiac and/or women's health experience a plus.
