The Registered Nurse (RN) provides direct patient care to assigned patients. As a professional nurse, the nursing process is utilized in the provision of care. The RN practices within the limits of the Nurse Practice Act of the State of Arkansas and adheres to institutional policies, procedures, and standards.
Work Hours: Part-time, temporary position on an as-needed basis.
Job Duties: The Registered Nurse Care Manager is responsible for managing the continuum of care for admission through discharge for assigned patients. The role reflects appropriate knowledge of the RN and SW scope of practice, current state requirements, CMS Conditions of Participation, EMTALA, Patient Bill of Rights, AB 1203 and other Federal or State regulatory agency requirements specific to discharge planning. The RN Care Manager partners with the medical staff, utilizes scientific evidence for best practices, relevant data and compliance with the Mission and Core Values of UAMS. Ensures that care and delivery of services provided are medically necessary, cost effective, delivered efficiently and timely, and the appropriate level of care to meet the payer requirements and established financial performance benchmarks for the facility and UAMS.
Required Experience: Valid AR RN License, 3 years registered nursing experience with current BLS certification; basic computer skills.
Preferred Experience: ACLS certification or obtain certification within one year of hire date, BSN; knowledge or experience in PCMH.
