  • Overview

    The Clinical Informatics Program Manager directs efforts to create and maintain ordersets, clinical protocols, clinical pathways, therapy plans, and standing orders utilized within the Electronic Medical Record.  S/He supervises and assists the physician builders in all stages of their project life-cycles.

    Responsibilities

    1. Maintains archival of EMR ordersets, clinical protocols, clinical pathways, therapy plans, and standing orders, including versioning control system.
    2. Tracks and maintains other Clinical Decision Support tools that are exposed to clinical end users
    3. Communicates regularly with Service Line stakeholders to maintain monitoring and compliance of ordersets, clinical protocols, clinical pathways, therapy plans, and standing orders
    4. Presents Quarterly reports to Medical Records committee as the representative for the Decision Support Committee
    5. Performs light work-flow analysis, data validation tasks, and builds and validates reporting
    6. Sets-up project-related meetings, captures and distributes meeting-minutes, and follows up on actionable items and assigned tasks
    7. Maintains and distributes project documentation related to order sets and other Clinical Decision Support tools
    8. Manages Policy/Procedure and Program Plan updates as needed
    9. May perform other duties as assigned

    Qualifications

    Minimum Qualifications: 

    Bachelor’s degree in healthcare or related field of study plus 4 yrs experience in a healthcare role, or project management role

    OR

    Master's degree in healthcare or related field of study plus 2 yrs experience in a healthcare role, or project management role

    • Experience with Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Excel, Word, and PowerPoint)
    • Strong writing, collaboration skills and attention-to-details 

    Preferred Qualifications:

    • Epic certification
    • Clinical training and certification in a clinical discipline, eg, LPN, RN, medical technologist

    Special knowledge, abilities and skills:

    • Exhibits a strong sense of personal responsibility & ‘ownership’ of duties
    • Models strong communication skills (oral and written) as evidenced by active collaboration with enterprise partners
    • Uses strong logic & organizational skills
    • Displays comfort in an information technology and professional clinical environment
