    Schedule: Full-Time, Days


    Within the Center for Nursing Excellence, the Quality Registered Nurse functions as a researcher, information disseminator, project and program analyst, program and proposal developer, regulatory and contractual monitor, coordinator for inter-departmental program support, and data collector for project reports in a broad range of activities. The individual will promote an environment of professional excellence as required to meet ANCC Magnet criteria by providing technical assistance, research assistance, program development, implementation and management to the Department of Nursing. The procedures/techniques that constitute the substance of these activities include those of problem definition, project analysis, and communication skills. The Quality RN must demonstrate a commitment of quality service to our customers (internal and external) and must support the mission, vision, values and strategic initiatives of UAMS Medical Center.

    The RN QA Coordingator researches "best practices" for Centers of Nursing Excellence and its activities to provide guidance to next level of excellence.  Quality Environment:


    • Completes data collection to satisfy the needs of compliance and organizational growth
    • Researches, plans, pilots, documents, communicates, implements, and coordinates nursing activities that promote Quality Excellence
    • Analyzes the Quality environment and assists nurses as they develop direction and priorities for all levels of nursing shared governance councils, committees, and task forces
    • Develops policies, procedures, guidelines, goals, objectives, and outcome methodologies for shared governance councils
    • Showcase nurses and their work to both internal and external customers through the development of communication tools and technologies
    • Prepares written materials for nursing oral and poster presentations for clinical, professional, and community activities
    • Participates as an active member on nursing shared governance councils, committees, and task forces in order to facilitate outcomes in a timely manner
    • Applies knowledge of quality improvement, nursing research, evidence-based nursing, to the nursing professional excellence environment



    Minimum Qualifications

    • Graduate of an accredited Nursing Program with vaild RN License. 
    • >5 years in nursing experience
    • Superior goal accomplishment skills (included in portfolio)
    • Strong customer service orientation
    • Superior organizational skills
    • Advanced communication, leadership and interpersonal skills (included in portfolio)
    • Demonstrated ability to align and motivate key process stakeholders, including nurses, physicians, and other clinical/administrative staff (included in portfolio)
    • Strong skills in MS Office and database software
    • Must be able to provide portfolio that includes samples demonstrating proficiency in areas indicated above as well as technical writing, publications and presentations


    Preferred Qualifications

    • BSN or Masters in Nursing or related field preferred
    • >5 years nursing/leadership experience in an academic, acute care institution.
    • Certification in a Nursing Specialty which may include, but is not limited to, Nursing Administration (NEA-BC, NE-BC), Certified in Executive Nursing Practice (CENP), Certified Nurse Manager and Leader (CNML,) Nursing Professional Development (RN-BC), Certified Professional in Learning and Performance (CPLP), or CPHQ
