Schedule: Temporary Part-Time, As Needed Basis (PRN)

The Registered Nurse (RN) provides direct patient care to assigned patients in Interventional Radiology.  Because we are a teaching hospital, UAMS offers the latest procedures using state-of-the-art equipment and technology. The caring and compassionate specialists at our Interventional Radiology Clinic use sophisticated imaging technology to guide minimally invasive surgical procedures.  Many procedures that once required surgery can be treated nonsurgically by interventional radiologists. Using minimally invasive procedures provides many benefits to our patients.  As a professional nurse, the nursing process is utilized in the provision of care. The RN practices within the limits of the Nurse Practice Act of the State of Arkansas and adheres to institutional policies, procedures and standards.

    Responsibilities

The Registered Nurse will provide patients support, education, and assistance in the prevention and/or maintenance of their disease and/or health and wellness state and will work with the individual patient, their families, and providers of care to develop and implement individual health plans, and provide support to the patient in self-management. Coordinate care and/or follow-up for patients who receive care in outpatient clinics. Coordination of prescription refill requests and patient education coordination in collaboration with physician staff. The RN will develop a specialty in patient care related to the clinic's populations and acts as a resource. The RN will work with the providers and clinical staff to implement innovative approaches and set priorities to meet patient/family needs. Commitment to patient outcomes results in high levels of performance despite workload changes.
