The Registered Nurse (RN) provides direct patient care to assigned patients. As a professional nurse, the nursing process is utilized in the provision of care. The RN practices within the limits of the Nurse Practice Act of the State of Arkansas and adheres to institutional policies, procedures and standards.

The Registered Nurse provides direct patient care to assigned patients in A7 Medical/Surgical (A7/A4). These two units serve 27 medical/surgical patients providing 24 hour care to acutely ill patients as well as observation and palliative care for specialty patients. Practicing in the medical surgical areas provides opportunities to develop skills for a wide variety of patient medical conditions, management of a range of IV central access devices, management of a variety of symptoms associated with the disease process and/or treatment, and development of skills in emotional support and palliative care. Various diagnoses may include Liver Disease, End-Stage Renal Disease, Respiratory Conditions, Immune Systems Diseases, Gastro-Intestinal Disease, and Musculoskeletal/Integumentary Diseases. Remote telemetry is available for patients who are presenting with clinical cardiac concerns who present with a history of cardiac disease. We also provide pre/postoperative care as well. A strong interdisciplinary team including physicians, nurses, pharmacists, nutritionists, and social workers support the patient in their various therapies. The patient population ranges from young adult to geriatric.
Required Experience: RN License, 1 year of registered nursing experience, excellent communication skills, basic computer skills, strong work ethics and accountability.
Preferred Experience: National Certification; BSN or MSN; 2 or more years of nursing experience with a minimum of 1 year in an acute care hospital setting a plus. Current BLS.
