The Registered Nurse (RN) provides direct patient care to assigned patients in our Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (F5/H5). This is a 64 bed NICU with single-room design providing care for early high-risk, low birth weight infants as well as acutely ill full term newborns. NICU is a Level IIIB Nursery and provides 24/7 physician and nursing care to serve the citizens of the State of Arkansas. High level developmental and technological care is combined with the specialized neonatal expertise of our health care team. The dedication of our NICU team allows us to provide patient- and family-centered care through Comfort, Hope and Healing to each infant and their family.

The UAMS Registered Nurse delivers nursing care for patients in within the limits of the Nurse Practice Act of the State of Arkansas and adheres to institutional policies, procedures and standards. The RN is responsible to adhere to the standard of care defined by UAMS, ANA, and Standards for specialty patient population with support and mentoring by other team members.
