Overview

The Registered Nurse (RN) provides direct patient care to assigned patients in Infusion 1.  UAMS infusion centers are open before and after business hours as well as on weekends and holidays to offer the flexibility patients need to manage their schedule and continue familiar routines. Infusion staff also works to make your treatments as stress-free as possible.  UAMS has two infusion centers offering personalized care to patients receiving chemotherapy and other cancer-related treatments.  Infusion 4 Clinic is located on the 4th floor of the Winthrop P. Rockefeller Cancer Institute and has 25 beds and chairs to serve patients quickly and efficiently.

Salary offered commensurate with experience

Responsibilities

The RN will provide patients support, education, and assistance in the prevention and/or maintenance of their disease and/or health and wellness state and will work with the individual patient, their families, and providers of care to develop and implement individual health plans, and provide support to the patient in self-management. Coordinate care and/or follow-up for patients who receive care in outpatient clinics. Coordination of prescription refill requests and patient education coordination in collaboration with physician staff. The RN will develop a specialty in patient care related to the clinic's populations and acts as a resource. The RN will work with the providers and clinical staff to implement innovative approaches and set priorities to meet patient/family needs. Commitment to patient outcomes results in high levels of performance despite workload changes.

Qualifications

Required:

  • Graduate of an accredited Nursing Program with Associates Degree, Nursing Diploma, Bachelors in Nursing, or Master's in Nursing
  • Valid RN License
  • 1 year of Registered Nursing experience
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Basic computer skills
  • Strong work ethics and accountability.

Preferred:

  • 2 years or more nursing experience
  • Current BLS.
