The Registered Nurse (RN) in the Psychiatric Research Institute is expected to work multiple units within PRI, consistently providing effective direct care to a variety of patients, work as part of the interdisciplinary team, based on licensure, title and competencies. The RN seeks, as well as, provides feedback for improved clinical practice. Integrates theory and research into clinical practice. Provides leadership to members of the nursing team in order to maintain patient care standards. The RN works under the direct supervision of the Clinical Services Manager (CSM). Promotion is based on years of experience, satisfactory performance appraisals and recommendation by manager. PRI Units include Inpatient Adult, Inpatient Adult Womens, PRI Child Diagnostic Unit, and Pulaski County Regional Crisis Stabilization Unit off campus

The UAMS Registered Nurse delivers nursing care for patients in within the limits of the Nurse Practice Act of the State of Arkansas and adheres to institutional policies, procedures and standards. The RN is responsible to adhere to the standard of care defined by UAMS, ANA, and Standards for specialty patient population with support and mentoring by other team members.
