This posting is used to fill multiple positions   The Patient Service Coordinator (PSC) provides clerical and organizational support to the patient care unit.  Duties include assisting with managing and processing patients’ medical records and patient/visitor receptions.  The PSC works within the Department of Nursing standards.  The PSC adheres to clinical program policies, procedures, standards and guest care guidelines.   F6 Medical Specialties Unit has an inpatient capacity of 30 beds. Patients receive comprehensive medical care which spans diagnosis and periodic re-admissions for treatment. Specialty nursing skills utilized on these units include provision of support to families and patients related to the psychosocial and emotional issues encountered with the diagnoses. Location: Pine Bluff, Arkansas   The RN Clinical Coordinator works as a part of an interdisciplinary team to provide clinical nursing care for children enrolled in UAMS Kids First clinics. The RN Clinical Coordinator acts as a clinical resource for clinic staff and as a community liaison for children enrolled in the program and may temporarily assume the duties of the Clinic Director when designated.  Kids First serves children with special healthcare needs ranging in age from six weeks to five years. Schedule: Full-Time,Weekend Day Option This position is used to fill multiple positions   The Registered Nurse provides direct patient care to assigned patients in Medical Oncology/Family Medicine (H7).  This unit has 30 private rooms and provides state of the art therapies to a wide range of medical oncology patients and family medicine patients. Practicing in this environment allows the RN to develop skills in chemotherapy and biotherapy administration, management of a range of IV central access devices, management of a variety of symptoms associated with the disease process and/or treatment, and development of skills in emotional support and palliative care. This area also provides learning opportunities in all areas of medical-surgical nursing. The Registered Nurse (RN) provides direct patient care to assigned patients. As a professional nurse, the nursing process is utilized in the provision of care. Schedule: PRN, As Needed Basis (Days)   The Registered Nurse provides direct patient care to assigned patients for all patients in the Psychiatric Research Institute  PRI is a 40 bed unit which cares for adult patients (30 beds) child patients (10 beds). PRI focuses on the psychiatric needs – situational and chronic depression, long standing mental illnesses of all types.  Some of the patients on this unit also require significant medical attention for illnesses typically found in the elderly population. We utilize psychiatry, nursing, social work, and recreational, occupational, and nutritional therapies to help our patients to function at the highest and most independent level possible prior to their to discharge back home to independent living, assisted living, or to an inpatient nursing facility.   A multidisciplinary approach is used to treat our patients, and the team of specialists is comprised of psychiatry, nursing, social work, and recreational, occupational and physical therapies, as well as dietary counseling and education. We also involve all medical specialties necessary to provide optimum care for each of our patient’s individual medical problems, thereby recognizing each patient as an integrated bio-psycho-social and spiritual being, as we provide care for them in the most time and cost effective manner possible. Advanced Practice Registered Nurse/Physician Assistant will assist surgeon with clinic, organizing visits and performing clinic procedures, assist in the operating room, answer pages and round on post-operative patients on a daily and PRN basis. Practicing in this environment allows the RN to develop skills in chemotherapy and biotherapy administration, management of a range of IV central access devices, management of a variety of symptoms associated with the disease process and/or treatment, and development of skills in emotional support and palliative care. Schedule: Full-Time, Night Shift This posting will be used to fill multiple positions   The Registered Nurse provides direct patient care to assigned patients in the Stem Cell Transplant Unit (F7).  This is a 30 private bed unit which specializes in the care of Multiple Myeloma patients.  Team members include physicians, registered nurses, APRN’s, clinical pharmacists, dietitians, social workers, chaplains, physical and occupational therapists, and psychologists. Schedule: PRN, As Needed Basis. This position will be used to fill multiple positions    The Registered Nurse provides direct patient care to assigned patients in our Labor & Delivery Unit (E5). UAMS Labor and Delivery unit is located in the Harry P. Ward Clinical Tower. The unit consists of 14 LDR rooms, four triage observational beds, two operating rooms suites, a three bed recovery room area and two state of the art Neonatal Stabilization rooms used to stabilize acutely ill neonates with specially trained staff from the Intensive Care Nursery. Labor and Delivery provides high-risk obstetrical care for patients all over the state. On average, this unit performs approximately 300-330 deliveries per month. The LDR rooms allow the expectant mother to labor, deliver, and recover in the birthing suites with family support.
